The Credit Grinch
You would have to be living on planet mars if you don’t know about the credit crunch and the horror and destruction it is leaving in its path.
Companies are battening down the hatches, whips and incentives are making their way onto the sales floors, and no doubt a hoard of tinned food is being stored in the director’s office.
It appears, more often now, that the poor unsuspecting Christmas party is falling victim to the mean and merciless monster that is the Credit Grinch, but then we would say that wouldn’t we?
The fourth quarter of 2008 isn’t an easy ride for anybody at the moment and if you are still doing well then you are no doubt preparing for harder times to come.
You need to draw a line under all the worry and stress this is causing your staff members and nothing underlines a year like a good Christmas knees up.
You don’t have to break open the piggy banks or look under sofas for the Christmas party budget. A perfectly acceptable Christmas party can cost from £30 a head and in London from as little as £40 a head.
It’s a small price to pay for allowing your staff to let off steam and get ready for 2009 and the last thing you need is for them to be talking about is how they didn’t get their Christmas party.
Even the hardest of shareholders cant deny your hard pressed staff a wee drink or two at the end of this year of years in the city.
