Organising your Christmas Party
Being given the task of organising your office Christmas party can be daunting and it is not something you want to leave to the last minute as popular dates in December very quickly get booked up. At Office Christmas we prefer to look at party planning as a fun challenge and we are here to help you find the perfect party for your company's needs, ensuring that it will be talk of the office for months to come.
Where do I start?
We have a wide range of party ideas for you to browse through. There are a few things you need to think about...
The number of guests
If you are a small company, you may want to consider joining one of the excellent shared Christmas parties being held throughout the UK in a wide variety of fantastic venues and locations. These party packages can provide a fantastic Christmas evening that staff will love, but still be cost effective. Treat your staff to something different from the usual meal out at a local restaurant and they will really feel appreciated.
If you are entertaining 50+ staff, shared Christmas parties are still an excellent option as many cater for large numbers, but it may be time to look at hiring a venue for your company’s exclusive use.
How much do I need to spend?
This is entirely dependent on your budget. You can spend upwards of £25 per head to join a shared Christmas party where your guests will eat well and party to the small hours (drinks will usually be extra). The sky is the limit on exclusive Christmas parties – talk to us about the endless possibilities for creating a memorable party that will amaze and thrill your staff.
The party atmosphere
Do you want a wild party atmosphere with the emphasis on dancing and drinking? Or something a little more low-key, perhaps a sophisticated dining experience in intimate surroundings.
Most shared Christmas parties request smart dress (no jeans or trainers), some offer the option of fancy dress. For your exclusive Christmas party you may want to make an occasion of it and go for formal dress or colour themed dress (black and white, sparkles, red, etc.), or simply dress to impress.
LocationThink about where your guests are travelling from. Do you want a city centre location or somewhere out of town. Will you need to organise transport or even overnight accommodation? We can help you with all these arrangements, simply contact us to discuss your requirements.
Shared Christmas parties
For companies of any size, joining a shared Christmas party can be an great option. If you are a smaller company, this allows you to book seats at a full scale Christmas party, allowing you to benefit from the fun atmosphere and entertainment of a big event - and even meet new people. Shared Christmas parties are often themed - think Rio Carnival, Winter Wonderland, Moulin Rouge (to name but a few) - which adds a different angle to the evening. They will also include the catering, usually a sit down 3 or 4 course meal, entertainment, a DJ to provide the essential music, and full event management.
Exclusive Christmas parties
For companies looking to hold a private Christmas party, there are many venues and party packages available. Each of the parties shown in all our locations will state whether they are available for shared or exclusive parties.
If you would like to create a bespoke Christmas party we are here to help you with the entire process, from the initial concept through to the management of the event itself, allowing you to sit back and relax on the evening. We can work with you on venue selection, party themes, entertainment, catering, music, hotel accommodation and much more. Take a look at our Christmas party venue selection. Themed parties are always in high demand and offer the chance to try something different each year. In partnership with our themed production sister-company Theme-Works, we can create a bespoke themed Christmas party and add a different dimension to the evening. Any themes are possible and suggestions are always welcomed. Some of more popular themes are:
- Rio Carnival
- Moulin Rouge
- Winter Wonderland
- Las Vegas Casino
- 1920s speakeasy
- Glitz and Glamour
Themes are installed in the venue utilising coloured drapes, banners, 3D props, screens and themed items. Lighting and colours all help to enhance the look and feel of the theme. To really make an impact, bespoke sets can be designed to suit your needs, even utilising your company logo if required.
Remember the entertainment and food can all be themed as well. Ice sculptures or vodka luges go well with winter themes and you can have different coloured chocolate fountains to enhance the mood. Have a harpist at a medieval theme or a rock and roll band at the 70s theme.
We can advise on any themes you have in mind or come up with suggestions for you. To give you an idea, the cost of theming a party generally ranges from £1500 to £6000 depending on how elaborate the theme or the size of the venue.
